Make your business unmistakable.
What is entity SEO?
Entity SEO is the practical work of making distinct things and their relationships clear: the organization, brands, people, services, products, locations, credentials and public sources connected to them.
The work begins in visible pages. A company page owns the organization facts. A service page explains the offer. A person page establishes the role and expertise that can be stated publicly. Location pages describe real operating relationships. Internal links explain how those things connect.
Structured data can reinforce that model in a standardized format. Google recommends Organization markup on the home page to help with administrative details and disambiguation, and allows relevant sameAs profiles. The markup still has to match what a person can see.
Fix contradictions before adding more signals.
More markup and mentions will not repair a public identity that disagrees with itself.
Owned pages
Choose the canonical owner for each fact and remove competing versions from other pages. Repeated facts should point back to the owner or remain clearly consistent with it.
The page needs enough context to be useful to a customer. A machine-readable fact with no visible explanation is not a complete identity system.
Structured relationships
Use the most specific supported types and stable identifiers where they accurately represent the page. Connect related items with URLs and identifiers rather than inventing relationships.
Validate the rendered markup and compare it with visible content. Syntactic validity does not make an unsupported statement safe.
Public corroboration
Inspect high-value profiles, directories, reviews, partner pages and published references for identity conflicts. Prioritize the sources customers and relevant search results actually surface.
A sameAs link can point to an applicable profile. It does not turn a weak or unrelated profile into authority.
From ambiguous footprint to maintained identity system.
Declare the entities that matter
Start with the organization, offers, people, locations and proof connected to important search and customer decisions.
Assign fact owners
Choose the canonical owned URL for each material fact and record who approves changes to it.
Map relationships
Connect the entities through page copy, breadcrumbs, contextual internal links and accurate structured data.
Reconcile public sources
Fix owned conflicts immediately and work through high-value third-party corrections in priority order.
Monitor drift
Review important profiles, schema and search representation after changes to offers, people, locations or company identity.
